Tube à manchettes, a section of injection tube

The “tube à manchettes” is a practical tool widely used for underground constructions, for injection works for soil reinforcement or permeability reduction. It is composed of a tube, with regularly spaced openings hidden by flexible doors. Tubes are then placed and sealed in boreholes regularly placed in the soil that needs to be treated. Then, the injection device is introduced inside the tube, near the openings which allow soil injection at precise locations. In this way, cement grout or resin can be injected in the soil in order to realise waterproof protections for underground structures or soil reinforcements.
