Soil Mechanics in Engineering Practice, K.Terzaghi & R.B.Peck

This book was published for the first time in 1948 as a companion volume of “Theoretical Soil Mechanics”. Part I deals with the physical and mechanical properties of homogeneous specimens of undisturbed and remoulded soils. Part II provides the reader with an elementary knowledge of the theories required for solving problems involving the stability or bearing capacity of soils or the interaction between soil and water. Part III deals with the application of our present knowledge of soil behaviour and of the theories of soil mechanics to design and construction in the field of foundation and earthwork engineering,
